The wooden structure is part of the Thrustmaster cockpit kit. The upholstery consists of 3 parts: seat, backrest and headrest. The headrest is velcroed to the supporting structure. The seat is reasonably comfortable. Supposedly it’s dimensions are similar to those of the seat in an F-16 cockpit. After careful consideration I decided against the installation of the explosive charges found in the original.
The aluminum tube in the backrest is the axis around which the canopy rotates. Below the axis are the mounting points for the canopy dampers. More info on this assembly can be found here.
Note the subwoofer behind the seat on the first photo. It has enough power to shake the whole cockpit construction when the engines are revving up.
